As the world market expands for CBD and hemp-derived cannabinoids, Rotachrom and Hau Processing offer processors a chance to see the future of industrial cannabinoid extraction and isolation at this hemp processing reference facility in Denver.

After announcing the opening of the new showroom and equipment reference facility in March, Rotachrom and Hau Processing invited Cannabis Tech in for a behind-the-scenes look into the world-class hemp processing center. In this episode of A Tech Moment, we’re live on-site at this new state-of-the-art facility located in Denver, Colorado.

Fairly unassuming and easy to miss, this hemp processing showroom is tucked away inside a new industrial business complex on the northeast side of the metropolis. However, as we walked through the main office doors into the processing center, the familiar hum of extraction and processing equipment assured us we were in the right place. Opening into 15,000 square feet of floor space, the fully operational center allows hemp processors and potential clients to see the process in action.

Rotachrom: Industrializing Centrifugal Partition Chromatography

Utilizing both the rCPC (research model) for research purposes and the iCPC (production model) for industrial-scale chromatography, cannabinoid separation, and isolation, Hau Processing is the perfect location for processors to:

  • ask questions about the equipment,
  • understand how each step integrates with the next, and
  • learn the best practices for operating a similar system

In a press release, RotaChrom North America President Gyula Kangiszer said, “With such a technical and revolutionary system as ours, we felt it imperative to open a facility that was able to showcase the technology in action while providing potential customers with an immersive educational experience.”

“It is important to highlight that this technology, unlike other approaches on the market, is not only able to adapt the process flow from isolation to remediation within a couple of hours but is also able to deliver the product without chemically altering its composition,” he continued. “And what better way to showcase this innovation than by offering customers the opportunity to experience the system first-hand.”

As shown in the video, the entire system includes everything from RotaChrom’s auxiliary SKID system to automate the purification processes to a customized solvent recovery system by Heidolph Instruments.

The Rotachrom & Hau Processing Leadership Team

In the interview, we sit down with Kelly Peterson, Vice President of Technical Services, from Rotachrom and Hoang Dinh, Director of Operations, from Hau Processing to talk about:

  • The motivation and background behind the two companies partnering to invest in this world-class processing facility
  • How automation makes all the difference in industrial-scale hemp processing
  • How processors, hemp growers, and others can tour this facility

Watch the video above to learn more about how the partnership between Rotachrom and Hau Processing will industrialize the processes and allow for bulk cannabinoid extraction and isolation as the industry moves into the next phase of commercial production.
