Kicking Off CBD Expo Northwest
In this episode of A Tech Moment, we speak to the President of MACE Media and the CBD Expo Tour, Adam Headley, about their Northwest cannabis and hemp industry conference kicking off this Friday in Seattle. Although Seattle isn’t the first city on this nationwide tour, after visiting Anaheim, Orlando, and Indianapolis, this show in the Pacific Northwest is certainly drawing attention with nearly 4,000 attendees already registered to attend.
Headley, said “Our expo is a premier CBD event platform, where we broadcast top-of-the-line CBD products and services with the community, and we provide expert-level knowledge on medical and industry updates with the attendees.” Being in a legal cannabis state, Headley mentioned they are expanding the topic breadth to include more sessions and information regarding full and broad-spectrum CBD products, as well.
Information Sharing Mission
As the budding industries continue to proliferate, consumers, would-be entrepreneurs, investors, and even medical professionals are seeking to learn more; not just about the plant itself, but of the science supporting the massive growth in these two industries. The focus in Seattle this weekend is on innovation in technology and medical advancements.
The Business of Cannabidiol
It seems everyone wants to cash in on the green rush but getting involved in hemp and cannabis is more complex than many realize. Industry events like CBD Expo Northwest can help bridge the knowledge gap. From a business perspective, presenters and panelists will discuss topics such as tracking technology, data trends, hemp commodity pricing, as well as, lab testing, and the importance of a certificate of analysis. Headley mentioned Evio Labs, from Oregon, will be onsite performing a demo of the Shimadzus HPLC Hemp Analyzer.
Additionally, Dr. Jenelle Kim and Craig Nandoo will be onsite to discuss formulations and product manufacturing. Justin Walsh, from Gleam Law, PLLC will present on compliance and labeling of CBD products, while Laura Breit, from Root Engineers will talk about regulatory considerations in extraction operations. AC Braddock from Eden Labs and James Schwartz from Cascade High both will offer advice for navigating the changing landscape of legal cannabis and hemp.
Medical Advances
On the flip side, medical professionals and even veterinarians will benefit from the array of discussions on the medical advances of cannabinoid science. Dr. Karyemaitre Aliffe, MD, from Charlotte’s Web, is presenting a keynote address titled, “Upgrading Our Endocannabinoid Operating Systems,” to talk about how modulating the ECS to help seemingly incurable diseases. Additionally, Dr. J. Julian Grove, MD will present on the topic of CBD for chronic pain and opioid reduction. Dr. Allen Manison, DC, from Noetic Nutraceuticals, will present on CBD for fibromyalgia and other chronic pain ailments.
On day two of the event, Dr. Randy A. Fink, MD will take the keynote position to talk about making CBD and cannabinoid medicine more easily understandable for physicians and patients alike. Other speakers such as Dr. Adam Abodeely, MD, Dr. Daniel Sliva, Ph.D and Ella Cressman, LE will also speak on the benefits and medical advantages of CBD.
Headley pointed out Coromega will be showcasing innovative technology in nanoencapsulation for cannabidiol products. Additionally, 3Chi will be highlighting their new CBN vape pen formulated for sleep and sedation.
“Our expos are both B2B as well as B2C,” Headly stated, explaining how a broad range of professionals and consumers alike could benefit from attending the show. From curious onlookers to serious investors, general practitioners to veterinarians, there’s something for everyone on the CBD Expo Tours.

Can’t Make it to Seattle?
The good news is, CBD Expo Tours have several events planned in 2019. If you can’t make it to Seattle this Friday, maybe one of the other dates and venues will work out better:
- October 11-12, 2019, CBD Expo Mountain is coming to Denver, Colorado.
- November 15-16, 2019 CBD Expo East is taking place in Orlando, Florida.
- December 5-6, 2019 CBD Expo West is headed for San Diego.
In addition to the dates and venues planned for the rest of this year, Headley shared they already have venues ready for the 2020 tour as well. So, look for next year’s conference calendar in Texas, Illinois, California, and returning to Florida, as well.
