Watch the Interview with B-Real
B-Real has lyrically promoted the cannabis culture for three decades as one of the frontmen for hip-hop group Cypress Hill. Taking his love of cultivation from the backyard to full-scale cannabis grow operation with multiple retail locations, now including a line of consumer electronics, certainly hasn’t come without its challenges. That’s not stopping Dr. Greenthumb from looking towards the future and across state lines.
B-Real: A Visionary from Day One
As an advocate and activist for cannabis for over thirty years, B-Real is excited about seeing cannabis culture develop into an industry. Having started in his own cannabis grow in his backyard and then migrating to his garage, B-Real soon learned that growing indoors presented itself with an entirely new set of challenges. The growing pains and adaptation required to produce a quality crop only increased as legalization began, and suddenly regulations were introduced to what before had been a somewhat clandestine, trial-and-error process.
B-Real seems almost poetic when discussing what Jack Herer and other activists before this generation would think about the progress made in cannabis, as well as the work that needs to be done. While more states come online with legalization and businesses desire to expand into neighboring markets, MSO’s will have more and more regulatory hoops to jump through. Inevitably, this will create further difficulty in keeping up with those individual states’ regulations. This could hopefully be curbed and made more consistent with federal legalization.
Intelligent Crop Management
To remain consistent with constantly changing regulations, as a business, you must remain incredibly adaptable while keeping your indoor grow conditions at a constant. THC Controls is the system Dr.Greenthumb uses to track the pertinent environmental data that determines crop success. B-Real expresses the importance of “keeping in the know of your grow.” Particularly when you have a large facility, there are so many variables to consider. The ability to pinpoint specific issues and make necessary adjustments as soon as a potential problem is indicated can make or break an operation.
Dr. Greenthumb, Meet G-Pen
The luxury of having laid the groundwork for an epic cannabis brand through music, movies, and TV is one definite leg up that B-Real acknowledges wholeheartedly. “The seed has been planted for years.” Grenco Science and Dr. Greenthumb are nearly the perfect pairing.
It only makes sense that his Dr.Greenthumb brand and G-Pen collaborate for a line of consumer electronics that is second to none. That was all a big part of the branding consideration. B-Real firmly states that he would “never collaborate with something I wouldn’t use myself.” After seeing the Stündenglass Gravity Hookah, you’ll be able to appreciate the importance of choosing a smart collaboration between a quality product and your brand.
