Ramshead Cannabis Comes to Oklahoma
Former Governor of Oklahoma Brad Henry once said, “Resilience is woven deeply into the fabric of Oklahoma. Throw us an obstacle, and we grow stronger.”
With a statement like that, it’s no wonder Jorel Decker found his way into the Oklahoma Cannabis Market. Better known as J-Dog, with Hollywood Undead, the musician admits nothing in the cannabis space comes easy, but his resilience and determination led him to build the team he needed.
With the help of Richard Yarber, who owned his own construction company at the time, the two combined their strengths while complementing each other’s weaknesses to launch Ramshead Cannabis in the heart of the booming Oklahoma cannabis industry.
Ramshead: Staying Humble & Community Oriented
Although his fame as a guitarist and front man for Hollywood Undead certainly provides brand recognition, Jorel considers himself a cultivator first. However, he stays incredibly humble as a famous musician, recognizing that the employees of Ramshead are the true rock stars.
With a background in construction, Richard built a state-of-the-art facility that not only grows great cannabis but also provides high-paying jobs for its staff and their community. Jorel reminds us that perception is everything, and they want to ensure they are good industry stewards and give back to their community. Jorel warns that bad players, who strip natural resources and decimate the area, still exist in the industry. Their intent is for Ramshead to set a higher standard.
Ramshead Pheno-Hunt & Product Lineup
We also discussed the pheno-hunt for cannabis genetics. Ramshead has been hunting for the perfect Tokyo Snow pheno for three years. In a recent press release, Jorel stated, “It’s super smooth to smoke. It is a total original; nobody has this specific version of Tokyo Snow because we popped 200 seeds over three years and kept narrowing it down to the best one. It’s rare as it is, but the way we grow it is completely different than anyone else. It may be the smoothest weed you’ve ever smoked.”
During the interview, Richard displays a few of the Ramshead products available on the market and a beautiful flower from a recent harvest. (Seriously – watch the video!)
Music is the Language of Cannabis
Naturally, we couldn’t have a platinum-selling artist on the show without talking about music. As other musicians have built on the correlation between cannabis and music, Jorel understands the connection.
Although Jorel admits that his cannabis endeavor has definitely impacted his music career, Hollywood Undead has a new album, Hotel Kalifornia, which is available for pre-order and will be released on August 12th.
