We are selling pallets of “like new” open-box Phytomax-2 1000 LED grow lights. This is the most powerful, high-performance commercial LED grow light model that we have evaluated. The output light is full spectrum, including UV in the 360 to 420 nm band (UVA), uniquely tailored to maximize high photosynthetic absorption in both vegetative and flower growth stages. BPI is brokering the sale of these lights. There are 3 pallets with 16 units per pallet. The owner would like to sell these for $12.5k per pallet. This price is less than half of the original purchase price shown on the manufacturer’s invoice. As broker, BPI will accept any reasonable offers.
These are very high-quality, rugged, commercial workhorse grow lights that will run great for years: True full spectrum with substantial UV to maximize quality as well as quantity, and each light uses a little over a kilowatt of electrical power. The manufacturer has many YouTube clips showing how these lights produce much higher yields than others.
Product Condition and Specifications
These lights have all been optically tested, and some were installed in grow rooms but never used in operation. They were originally purchased in 2021 by a large grow facility that overestimated the number of grow rooms needed to supply the cannabis flower market.
These lights are being sold in original packaging with original accessories: rope pulleys, hanger clips, and power cord. This model light can be supplied with voltages ranging from 100-250VAC. The power cables available are 240V (NEMA 6-15P) for 220-240VAC. Extra long power cables are available by request.
By varying the height of the light over the plant, light levels can be adjusted while the powerful light spectrum remains unchanged. We tested these by measuring Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density (PPFD) in micromoles-seconds per meter squared (umoles/m2/s) at different distances between the target (plant canopy) and the light. Results show the average PPFD at the plant canopy with a light distance of 24 inches above the canopy is ~ 2300 umoles/m2/s, and ~3300 umoles/m2/s at an 18-inch height.
Performance and Durability
The Phytomax-2 1000 is 21 inches square and consists of 420 high-power (5 watt) Light Emitting Diodes (LED). With so much optical output power, we expected this light to get very hot, but it actually runs relatively cool, radiating much less heat than other light sources we’ve tested. This is due to an integrated (internal) cooling system of fans and a massive heat sink that cools the LEDs when operating. This high-performance cooling greatly extends the life of the LEDs, which is why the manufacturer specifies this model light to 50,000 operating hours! That’s 11.4 years when operating 12 hours every day, or 7.6 years when operating 18 hours every day. We expect there is no grow light in the market designed to last this long.
Note that in general, LEDs do not significantly fade in output over time. They simply blink out when their lifetime limit is reached, assuring steady, consistent output during their operational lifetime. Due to competition in the marketplace, newer grow light designs trade off durability to lower cost. Most newer designs now incorporate a dimmable light feature to qualify for state energy tax credits for the buyer, but this significantly trades off LED lifetime. Slightly earlier models without a dimming feature are often better designed than their newer dimmable versions.
