Flourish Systems and Québec-based cannabis producer Origine Nature are expanding the deployment of Flourish’s precision, weight-based irrigation technology throughout Origine Nature’s indoor cultivation facility. The collaboration is intended to help the producer standardize crop performance, identify cultivation deviations earlier and develop more predictive workflows.
Flourish’s platform continuously tracks changes in substrate weight, giving cultivation teams visibility into irrigation uptake, water use, runoff, dryback and biomass-development trends. The company positions the technology as an alternative to point-in-time substrate measurements by providing ongoing crop-level data throughout a cultivation cycle.
During an initial comparative test, Origine Nature reported that a room using Flourish’s system generated 30% more final dry weight of trimmed flower than a comparison room. The companies noted that the result reflected the conditions of that test and should not be interpreted as a validated or reliably repeatable yield increase. Origine Nature is continuing research to understand what drove the outcome and whether it can be replicated.
The companies are also developing yield-forecasting tools intended to estimate final crop output three to four weeks before harvest, using biomass-gain trends and historical data. Another initiative, described as “reference-run” functionality, would compare active rooms with performance benchmarks from prior successful production runs to help cultivation teams identify potential issues earlier.
